Transferring to Other Systems

CONNECTING WITH OTHER PARATRANSIT SYSTEMS

DART can help you transfer to ACCESS Transportation in King County or to Everett Paratransit. Call DART up to seven days in advance and request the entire trip or round trip you want. DART will make all the arrangements for you.

For all other connections, such as with Island Paratransit, Kitsap Transit and the Washington State Ferries, you need to make your own arrangements.

When transferring from DART to ACCESS and vice versa, pay the appropriate fare or show your PugetPass on the first paratransit vehicle you ride on each one-way trip.

TRANSFERRING BETWEEN DART AND REGULAR FIXED-ROUTE BUSES

When you use DART to get to or from the regular fixed-route system, first find out from DART the location of the nearest Community Transit/DART bus stop. Then call Community Transit at 425-353-7433 or use the Bus Plus Book to find out the arrival time of the fixed route at that bus stop. Provide this information to DART when booking your paratransit trip.

Transfers between DART and Community Transit usually take place at covered bus stops or park & ride lots. If you need assistance with the location of the Community Transit/DART transfer bus stop nearest you, the DART representative can help you.

If you board DART and you will be transferring to a regular fixed-route bus, pay the DART fare and ask the DART driver for a transfer. Your transfer is good for two hours and can be used for a local or one-zone fare on Community Transit, Everett Transit, Pierce Transit, Metro or Sound Transit fixed-route buses.

If you board a fixed-route bus first, and you will be transferring to DART, pay the local reduced fare on that bus and ask the driver for a transfer. The transfer can be used as 50¢ toward your $1.25 DART fare, if used within two hours. You will need to pay an additional 75¢ when boarding DART.

If you have a $1.25 PugetPass, you may use it on all regional fixed-route and paratransit buses. You do not need to get transfers. For more information on how to transfer among different paratransit and fixed-route buses in the region, please call Community Transit's Customer Information Center at 425-353-7433.
