Who Can Ride With Me?
PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANTS
A Personal Care Attendant is someone who travels with and helps a rider
who is not able to travel alone. An attendant rides free and must get on
and off at the same time and place as the customer. If you will have an
attendant with you when riding, be sure to tell DART when requesting your
ride.
Please note: DART does not provide Personal Care
Attendants nor can the driver serve as your attendant.
SERVICE ANIMALS/ PETS
DART accepts all service animals needed for the customer's travel.
Service animals must be on a leash or in a harness.
DART will also transport small pets traveling with their owners when
they are in a suitable pet carrier. Larger pets that are not service
animals must be on a leash and have a muzzle or head collar that covers the
mouth.
Please tell DART at the time you request your ride if a pet or service
animal will travel with you. You must be in control of the animal at all
times.
COMPANIONS
A companion may travel with you. More than one companion may travel if
space is available. Companions must pay the same fare as the customer and
get on and off at the same time and place as the customer. Up to two
companions under the age of six may ride free.
TRANSPORTING CHILDREN
Children under the age of six must be with a responsible, eligible adult
and may board only when the eligible customer is ready to board.
Washington
State law requires that
children under four years of age must be in car seats.
DART does not provide car seats. The child's parent or guardian is
responsible for providing an approved safety seat compatible with safety
belts on DART vehicles. The parent or guardian is also responsible for
securing the car seat and the child.
You will not receive service if you do not have an approved seat for
each child traveling with you.
